In response to one of the hottest and driest winters on record, the Aspen City Council has approved the implementation of Stage 3 water shortage restrictions. This decision aims to address the ongoing drought conditions affecting the Roaring Fork Valley and to preserve the community’s water supply.
Under Stage 3 restrictions, outdoor irrigation is limited to two days per week: Tuesdays and Fridays for even-numbered addresses, and Wednesdays and Saturdays for odd-numbered addresses. No watering is permitted on Mondays, Thursdays, or Sundays. Additionally, the city will not operate the Dancing Fountain during this period to conserve water.
City officials are also encouraging valley-wide conservation efforts and have initiated a water conservation outreach campaign to educate residents and businesses on the importance of reducing water usage during this critical time.
